Search But Never Find
I looked everywhere as I wandered lost and alone on the city streets. I tried living under the garbage cans, in the bushes, or on the bus. I tried to find a home in all the wrong places. Every single time I thought I had found somewhere that I could stay forever, but in the end, I always had to keep looking. It was not hidden under the roses or frozen in a window display. It was not in the bed I had known for so long, or in his arms. Home is a phantom limb, but I can still feel the dull ache of it every time I close my eyes.
