Resting
To make the land productive, let it rest.
To solve the issue, don't let the matter rest.
At night the baby wakes and needs a feed,
the parents zombie-like from lack of rest.
The children like to play, explore the bush,
return at dusk, when dark they need their rest.
She'd seen too much of trouble the world can bring,
lying down she gave her eyes a rest.
The busy days of work come to a close,
retirement gives the time at last to rest.
In song, the silence makes the loudest speech,
the added drama brought by every rest.
The poet knows that strife abounds in life,
it's only at the end in peace we rest.
