Bio
Marcus Slingsby was born in Yorkshire in 1973. During his 20's and early 30's he travelled the world; working the 1st to wander the 3rd. His work has appeared in Amsterdam Quarterly, Jasper's Folly and The Poetry Lighthouse. He lives in Friesland with his family.

It is Nothing
On his head he carries the opposite
his sulphur kneecaps struggle
with the fat of it
his pockets are full of it
while the church takes none of it
will he ever grow -
never overtaking it.
The classrooms are empty with it
though full to overflow
with students
behind their eyes
I don't know,
their future's rich in it
before, their textbooks were lined with it
yet still they sow,
the seeds of it.
