Sylvia Levinson
On the eve of my 61st birthday
Lemon slice of a new moon,
Outline of a promise behind
The black glaze of night sky.
A brushstroke of light, pale as lemonade,
Watercolor ribbon on a lapping sea,
A slick twist in an icy gin martini.
Cold night air swings open in front of me.
I walk through the door untouched.
