Rebecca Ball
tomorrow's sun
inside the blossom buds
last year's sun flushes pink
pushes leaves stems sepals
reaches for light and wind
did it soak up his laugh
like broth into silken tofu
fold its peals into parcels
press them warm in green paper
pinch them closed pleat them safe
hang them high in a woven basket
tomorrow's sun will warm this wind
steam open these pink gyoza
the garden will make new space
for the sound of cherry blossoms
