women with knives in their eyes
some are wives
some used to be wives, lovers, ex-lovers,
pregnant, mistakes,
reasons for wars, deaths of men,
some almost deaths, and some dead
before death.
but they are survivors,
the mad ones, the ones too strong
until there's nothing left
then they give a little more.
Bio
Thom Young is a writer from Texas. A 2016 Pushcart Prize nominee.
