I Open My Receptors

I open my Receptors:
Victims of endless wars catch at my sleeve.
I open my Receptors:
A hundred girls brush by me: glance, touch, leave.
I open my Receptors:
The sunrise wraps me in a robe of rose,
Apes in my skull debate our social roles,
Along my spine a lizard hunts food, sex.
The future stretches out - grim and sublime,
Till humans disappear, or coalesce –
Though some flee to another space and time.
I open my Receptors
To all of life: its glories and its grime.
