Lois Marie Harrod
What the Woman at the Well Told JC during the Covid-19 Crisis
She asked him to forgive her for using so much toilet tissue,
gobs and gobs to blow her nose and wipe off make-up, and yes,
on more than one occasion to write a haiku with eye liner
as she was sat and thought
but now that toilet tissue had become so scarce,
she limited herself to two sheets, no more, she would be careful,
no more writing while her teenage daughter
was pounding at the bathroom door,
she could wash her hands thoroughly with soap and water
from the well, which sometimes
even though sea level was rising,
seemed to be going dry.
