Richard Dinges, Jr.
News
News no longer stays
still within defined borders
on newsprint or TV frames,
no longer a hollow thump
that rattles screen doors
under a slanted sun,
or splashes in an
unexpected summer storm.
I am now that shallow
puddle that dries quickly
under a hot sun to leave
a shadow cast
across pixels that fade
after a single glance.
