Faculty Party

Once again, the wizards from across the curriculum are pontificating on the
pronoun crisis and the imminent death of the humanities and the promise of
AI despite its threat to critical thinking. I no longer stay on the sidelines,
sipping my chardonnay, chewing my cheese squares, reciting Keats to
myself. I float among the banter, guffaw at administration gossip while
nibbling on rye crackers and brie. My ex used to call me a party-pooper for
wanting to leave early, but tonight I wax ecstatic at every nuance, and I've
learned to sling erudition with savoir faire while managing to keep from
vomiting up my hors d'oeuvres.
