Mira Fox
A Rufescent Bruise Inflicted from Rashness
Brazen in a palate of grayish lavender
outlined in a ring of rufescent,
the ruby shade emblazoning its namesake
crystal's signature red iridescence;
My brunette bangs protectively shelter
my bruised eye, scorned by an outraged hand
uncoiled like a cornered rattlesnake,
singed with the heat of rash, unabashed anger
smudged into my skin like ashen sand;
A burn reflecting my unacceptable mistake,
made by the caress of my mother.
Bio
My name is Mira Fox, and I am a young woman who lives a normal, middle-class life in the quiet suburbs. Even so, I am both cursed and blessed with intuitive thinking skills that often create unanswerable and anxiously laced questions in my head, which I answer through poetry. I have a heavy hand in metaphors and an affection for alliteration, which makes my writing as much tongue-twisters as they are thought-provoking.
