Sterling Warner
Spirits Uncorked
pushing rocks up hills
like Sisyphus futility
consciousness ferments
In between shots of whiskey and schnapps
Lynn cackled, "Hard liquor's a beautiful thing."
Moving from initial anticipation to full consumption
her lighthearted personae fostered a body double.
Hidden beneath long-sleeved shirts and lacy blouses
she emerged like a mosquito in a nudist colony-a cliché.
Attacking naked arms and trusting minds, Lynn
pierces them with violent outbursts and indignant fits.
Hysterics rage for hours till frenzy fueled energy fizzled
and tear drops cleansed Lynn's Jeckle/Hyde demeanor.
a morning sunrise
peeks though a frosty window
nightmares erased
