Cathedral of Trees

I sneak away for red geraniums to place before her tomb
resting under the sighing cathedral of trees

You can visit if you want
she once said of the gravesite
chosen for Dogwoods lining the path

but I won't be there

Still
each year I wait for those Dogwoods to bloom
for her birthday
