I sink into the sofa,
Scotch in hand,
Smoke in the other,
My mind sinks into the cushioned thoughts,
Moulded to my memories of this moment,
Left to be myself,
Just myself,
Alone,
Listening to the warn blend of jazz
Beneath the lampshade
Amber, like the sunset
As evening settles in
With my maturing mind turning sepia.
