When a Three-Legged Dog is Named After a Greek God
there are certain expectations
that he will always protect your home
like some 100 pound ball of fury
like some unstoppable four-legged god of fire
not a sweet natured mountain beast
who stops to rest every few feet
panting for water
who can offer very little
beyond his unrelenting love
who may well tip over
with the first strong morning wind.
