Imagine

John Lennon climbs a ladder up to YES.
He peers through Yoko's magnifying glass,
the tiny smudge grows sharp, a word to bless
all that has passed and that will come to pass.

To peer through Yoko's magnifying glass
(each rung makes audible his rubber soul)
he leaves his past, grabs what will come to pass.
One word erases good-bye for hello.

No auditors check whispers in the soul.
Avant garde ladders have no foot for bills.
One word erases good-bye for hello.
He signs on with the fool upon the hill.

An iconoclast (for which he'll pay the bill)
reads one word on the ceiling, word to bless
himself, Yoko, and the fool on the hill.
John Lennon climbs the ladder up to YES.
