Sterling Warner
Bifröst
I saw my life in the heavens flicker
collapsing like a white dwarf star
existence unspectacular yet enduring
wishing on myself desiring rebirth
as a supernova dust & gas buckling,
glow emerging, destined for red giant glory.
Valkyrie shields glimmer below me & a rainbow
bridge burns between Midgard & Åsgard.
May my luminesce distinctly shimmer
among dancing waves of northern lights
allow ancestors to marvel at the aurora borealis
point to my mass in a constellation, hydrogen-helium
nuclear fusion waxing, waning—final exit
marked with an explosion & black hole.
