Eternal Idol

I kiss your breasts and areolae
whilst you are sleeping
and though the sensation of kissing
sleeping flesh is alien, I persevere,

rousing you from your dreams
and you whisper in my ear:
'don't just fuck me like a cowboy –
make love to me like Leonard Cohen.'
