In the room with lavish light
As she meanders down the hall
This woman who climbs out of pigeonholes
Her thoughts waft back toward me
Standing in the doorway
To the room that houses an elephant or two
I try to decipher the meanings of currents
The language of her body
The body she says is of little use to her now
I catch what I want to catch, evidence of hope
I follow her into the room with lavish light
We convene, I hold her hope up to look at,
We take our time with it
Cautiously
allow it
to reshape us
