Leaf
At the beginning of all things
stands a tree of moments
its leaves the colour of possibilities
many fall unseen untouched
but sometimes with a sapient breeze
one floats to the river, drifts
like a prayer until it's aligned
with eyes that watch from the riverside
then stops – quivers in the power
of now – waits for hands to reach
to touch for it not to be lost
but sail downstream into a memory.
