Fault Lines

The day steps slowly out of the light.
I cross my fingers, that you will
be my incandescence of the Seletar skies,
a road-bend, where asphalt meets the sky.
Our fate lines lie interlocked,
warmth of our clasp
still beckons nesting bulbuls.

But, as I tend to my skewed lines
and learn to inhabit them,
somewhere across thousand miles,
you speak of tectonic plates and fault lines.
