Guni Vats is a Research Scholar at the University of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. An avid researcher, she has been published in many reputed books few of which have made way to the Library of Congress, Washington DC and the libraries of Oxford and Stanford Universities. A gold medalist in her masters, she has a keen interest in the research topics related to construction of identity, becoming of a woman, Indian mythology and psychoanalysis construction of subjects. She writes and hopes to be read someday.

I looked at him and I knew
He did not want to bind me, he only wanted to free himself.
He did not want to construct me, he only wanted to detangle himself.
He did not want to hold me, he only wanted to lose himself.
And then I knew, whenever I look him in the eye, he knows I see what
I see
And that is why he keeps me veiled.
