"... brevity is the soul of wit ..."
- William Shakespeare

I was born in the UK in 1969 but grew up in Auckland, New Zealand, where I have recently completed a Master of Creative Writing at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). I have previously published poetry in several journals and collections, and have work appearing in the forthcoming Poetry NZ Yearbook (March, 2018).

A black cross and blood-edged clouds
Under which you hid until the next gathering
Of eyeless foxes eaten by trees
Of tears lost to the dawn
And the solitude that comes
Out of pain and a greater loss.
