Bio


Born in Egypt and raised in the Middle-East. Educated in Ireland, he studied solo English at Trinity College Dublin. He has lived and worked in the eastern Mediterranean. He lives in West Cork. Poems published in Stony Thursday Magazine, Ghent Review, Live Encounters, Shamrock Haiku, Contemporary Haibun Online and forthcoming in Crannóg. He won the International Haiku Competition of the Irish Haiku Society (2014) and (2016) honourable mention (2015) and was runner up in the Snapshot Press (UK) Haiku Calendar 2016. He is a member of the Irish Haiku Society. Haiku included in Between the Leaves ed. Anatoly Kudryavitsky (Arlen House, 2016), an anthology of new haiku writing from Ireland.

perhaps it was a line
from a poem straying
beyond the original thought
of its making
its syllables exact
a course of bricks
building on its syntax
a unit of design
single and express
no editing should alter
or this old house
where ingress of water
has taught me to trace
the seepage in the cracks
