Lisa Alexander Baron
Archetype
You are now a livable myth.
No rebuke rises
from your bed nailed
to the earth's floor.
Rich, dark dirt smothers
our mis-aligned words
and jagged silences,
these fractured bones.
Some kind of grace pushes
from the ribs of this lily's
stem, a bit of white
that boldly shows its head
from our death-womb.
