Rob Gourley
Windchill
East wind down the Gorge –
causing whitecaps & surface spray,
fiercely agitating the firs
near the wide river,
Bringing wintry chill,
starting to numb my fingertips
when I get out, stretch into weather,
Bringing hypnotic snowflurries
and sudden awareness
of caustic words spoken
by each, evenings, shiver.
