Ella anda por la playa sobre nubes de arena
Gentíl como las olas que se tocan sus pies.

The Islander
She walks down the beach on clouds of sand
Gentle as the waves that touch her feet.
Her boat, full of white Callas,
Responsible for her heart,
Floats upon the sea
Protected by the arms
Of the stoic island.
Bio
Bilingual poet Regina (Gina) Ridge lives and writes in Columbus, Ohio. She was born and raised in the Panamá Canal Zone and was first published in "The 2008 Poet's Guide to New Hampshire". She enjoys traveling, photography (especially in the Lakes Region of NH) and reads voraciously.
