Andrew Shields lives in Basel, Switzerland. His collection of poems "Thomas Hardy Listens to Louis Armstrong"
was published by Eyewear in 2015. His band Human Shields released the album "Somebody's Hometown" in 2015 and the EP
"Défense de jouer" in 2016.

Stick figures, two houses, a bird, and several names.
No rain has come to wash away the chalk.
Shoes and tires spread the dust around.
That car drove all the way from far away.
The sticker on the back's an outlined island.
The dull dust of there mingles with the colors.
Every day the flowers bloom and pass.
