Tim Hawkins
The Naked Face
(Triolet)
As if you'd found no better place
to spend your nights, at last, unarmed
you came to me in search of grace,
as if you'd found no better place.
You left in tears, distraught, alarmed
that you had seen my naked face.
Thank God you've found a better place
to spend your nights, at last unharmed.
