Linda Conroy
Queer Collaboration
I'm collecting all the parts of me,
the boys and girls, the older ones,
the child who wore the yellow dress,
those ones who knew everything,
or so they said, some so unlively,
feelingless, and body-free,
but all of them beloved's kin.
I'll bring us to nature's edge
where water meets the land.
Salt and soil mix with sand, as
we find birds to watch, standing
one foot on a rock, color glowing
rich and clean, filled with life
free from bias, from concern.
