Through The Lens

Seeing through the lens is oppressive

to lose one's sense of sight gradually
blurry vision and faulty recognition of scenes, beings, entities—
cruel and burdensome

to perceive through the optics is punitive
blindness disguised as fancy and nerdy
obstructed views, hazy reality.

Yet, seeing through the lens is a privilege

to reclaim one's ability to see temporarily
through wearing an illusion of a crystal clear perspective—
a special right to pay for.
