B. A. France
Florida Visits
crystalline blue water
I know that the pool is cold
but I still want to swim
checking the thermometer
I reconsider the thought
sitting in the sun
my gaze drifts from the book's page
to the waving palms
alone, yet
surrounded by the pensioners
watching golf
inside they drift off
volumes turned up too loud
over the doves' calls
and another day escapes
when we all could be living
