White light. At noon our car hit the wall
of the sky. Six flashes per second
as night falls. I could go blind in the rain,
but does that ever happen? You're asleep
and this is leaving, the way I wanted
to stop the sliding hours, their flicker-past
like the tick tick round the evening pool
of the pixelated bat. He's caught
in one square of space. I'm bleeding time.
You're asleep and the power's out again.
And this is leaving, carrying the flash
behind my eyes, into the dark outside.
