easier for simple mortals
than this slowly spinning ball suspended in chaos.
Pythagoras heard heavenly harmony humming in space – the planets' mystic song.
Divine choreography ruled humanity's fate
whilst we worshipped blindly below,
humble and fearful,
ignorant,
trusting –
less
brave.
