Juxtaposed–
our love, a forest
with lush evergreens
ever reaching to the sky
ever fooling naked eyes
and crackly underbrush
underneath roots and brambles
the vines entwined
petrified.
Bio
Laurie Kolp is the assistant creative writing editor of The River Journal. She has numerous publications, some of which include Writer's Digest, Red River Review, TUCK Magazine, Poetry Quarterly, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Devotional Stories for Tough Times, Dead Mule's School of Southern Literature, Christmas Miracles, The Christian Communicator, Skive Magazine.
