Joanne Cole
Lost and Found
I found a loop for looking at photographs.
I lost my mind when the whistle blew.
I found my way home
But lost the bet.
I found your anger unforgivable.
I found the grace to forgive the Saint—who lied to me about life.
I lost faith in God Almighty.
I found that the truth comes too late.
I found a satchel full of two-pence.
Lost by a ragamuffin theft.
I found the farthings far too late
Lost belief, now bereft.
I heard the jury found him guilty.
Lost in court, now in cuffs.
I found the key lost by the sheriff.
We'll find each other in the roughs.
