Weather
It's up there, in the sky; waiting, watching.
Snow clouds overhead full and heavy
Just waiting to burst with white flakes of inconvenience
Papering over the cracks
Of dirt and detritus.
It seems a transformation.
A short spell of pristine beauty;
The crisp tablecloth settling over the table, sticky with crumbs.
The squalor disguised
But only temporarily.
The thaw is inevitable.
A metaphor for life
Beauty is transitory, ephemeral, fleeting.
Facing old age with wisdom
The virgin white degrades to grey.
