You can do anything with this life
This poem is trying to be inspirational.
They tied us to the fence when we were in the military.
They did it for bonding.
Or they did it to destroy our lives forever, or at least try to, or to succeed.
You can do anything with this life.
I say this to a patient.
I counsel patients with PTSD.
I have PTSD.
They say the best therapists for PTSD patients are the therapists with PTSD.
That we understand.
They say that.
I don't know who 'they' are.
The patient says, Yes, but some people've done terrible things.
And I tell him, And some do miracles, or try for miracles, or try.
Outside, it's raining and the rain looks like falling gems and I feel a sort of ecstasy that is hope.
