COVID Obit (Condensed)

Contradictive orientation befell bedside rants,
rolling into incoherent chatter.
Nights were seldom sober,
yet the air was crisp with vodka.

Prayer overflowed, outstretched to the benevolent—
and shut out.
It left us dancing atop thanksgiving
like glass shattering on carpet.

Hollow now are the brilliant sounds,
snipped from the linen of God's robe—
not silenced,
but put on trial.

Amazon boxes render my sanity useless.
Zoom calls over busted connections torment me,
profit from me,
as I descend into madness.
