Ron Cassano
Humbucker
Nightclub, all neon, bass drum punches my chest
Men and women smoking in the parking lot
The party is just as vibrant outside
Deals and stolen kisses and impromptu dances
The click of boot heels and breaking glass
Ghost guitars scream solos to the cheap seats
A humbucker distorts the night breeze
Limestone dust hovers in the air
Amid the chaos a baby cries, or possibly a woman
A soft cry like maybe something joyous
