"... brevity is the soul of wit ..."

Panes of Hunger

Glass fractures light—
slanted beams slicing shadows
across the table,
Where crumbs linger
Whispers of a vanished feast.

The Pane holds a face,
its hollow gaze pressed against
a brittle world,
Reflections thin as air.

Beyond, golden crust wheat sways—
close enough to taste,
sealed
Behind silent scream of glass.
