Cierra Rossi
A Eulogy
It'll bubble up from the dirt
From the edges of the casket
Like worms, peeling upwards to chase rain
Or bean sprouts that break the surface,
But keep stakes in the ground
It'll bleed out the sides of your smile
And leave graphite stains on your paper
It'll be the wax that oozes out of the stamp
The pages that peak out of the spine of the book
Or the coffee that stains a ring onto your table
You'll find it engraved in the rings of the trees
The words will spill out your guts
They'll dissect it in an archeologists' lab;
And It'll be scribed in your bones.
