Girl, what is the price of a dream?

Is it the cost of my twenty years of youth
Or thirty years of suffering?
Is it the cost of making love to a beautiful woman in bed in a well lit windy room in Madrid
When the aficionados shout the whole night
At dawn, some sleepless musician plays the melancholy tune in violin
Of a forgotten man, returning home?
Is it the cost of all those wakings in cheap hotels in shared bug-infested bed
With a woman, half-naked lying in a red panty two feet from me, breathing the Chilean air from where she comes?
Is it the touch of Paris on my dusted, bleeding, naked feet... on my sunburnt Indian skin as I look up at the Notre Dame and cry?

Girl, what is the price of a dream?
Say me, before everything ends.
