Gary Sokolow
a day's dissent
it is the cigarettes i ration
the ash layered floors, watching
a morning face in travel, sleep
then waking, and how did I miss
the connections? the slight of hand?
the gray skies bother too few
like a black and blue scar
the butt end of a day pressing
inhale
deep in the chest
a twilight yellow
