The day I became me
(pantoum)
The day I became me
Found a place to call home
Becoming the thing I was meant to be
The day I finished building Rome
Found a place to call home
Never thought I'd face eviction
The day I finished building Rome
Claiming my label with such conviction
Never thought I'd face eviction
The exactly real I felt in that place
Claiming my label with such conviction
Sometimes a body out grows their space
The exactly real I felt in that place
Becoming the thing I was meant to be
Sometimes a body out grows their space
The day I became me
