I Acclaim Hope
Having not lost faith, my sense of the world nesting in a tall television antenna
that's upraised like a busted badminton racquet, I read Ecclesiastes. Emptiness
and chasing the wind...apparatus of obsolete television offers a prayer, the logic
of snow spreading across a curved mirror screen opening an eye to see a Jesus
like Ernie Kovacs. This is a prayer of negation, not nostalgia, a prayer begging
gray scale clarity the world a wind of words needing rabbit ears endlessly
adjusted to tune past emptiness to art. I acclaim hope.
Bio
I am a Reference Librarian at St. Lawrence University, and have been so for almost twenty years. Along with a perspective on libraries very much rooted in the print book, I've published poems in a variety of publications.
