And while Vivaldi plays
Last rays of sunset
Kiss nested fledglings goodnight –
Tree snakes hiss good hunting.
Tiger-lilies pink
our heatwaved home, unopened.
Stems, bowed, seethe to slime.
Relieved trees relax.
Their shading done, leaves curl up
Spooned in wind's embrace.
Frozen lake, you hide
my lucent glow.
Arrest, Moon,
this fresh coat of snow.
