Heather Awad
Tap Shoes
That pesky screw from the underside
of her tap shoe, rolled across the waxy
wood floor, chasing it on all fours,
amid curious eyes and hidden smiles.
A tiny tear not quickly dried
reached her lips' crooked line
wishing one day soon
for her own new shoes.
