Erik Fuhrer
bliss
please don't tell me the truth
about the river in my lungs
turn instead to song
sugar slow and red like gold
the shape of rain on the skin
the closeness of lip to lip
a dream become flesh:
your feet on the lip of a wave
unlocking the lung of a star
clean and bright
to breathe the river free inside me
