Weeds are plants in the wrong place

dig
deep. Dock
roots resist,
refusing to yield
to my weeder's clay-probing tines.
Dock, bindweed, brambles belong here – stubborn as the soil
in which acorns transform themselves
into tiny trees –
soil that will
not hold
strange
plants.
